HIGH TECHNOLOGY ATTAINS NEW HEIGHTS ON THE NEW 2008 MODELS!

High technology with an emphasis on going green best characterizes the new model golf cars for 2008.

E-Z-GO’s introduction of the much anticipated RXV™ fleet golf car in November took center stage and garnered the most attention for the 2008 model year. E-Z-GO then followed this noteworthy accomplishment with the debut of the Freedom RXV™ in April. The RXV models, which are available in electric or gas versions, have many unprecedented, ground-breaking features. The RXV electric models have AC drive, an industry first for electric golf cars. The AC drive enables the RXV’s to generate more power with longer operating time between charges, resulting in up to 30% more efficiency and a 10% improvement in daily range compared to direct current golf cars. RXV electric models also have a revolutionary dual braking system in which a fail-safe park brake automatically engages when the RXV stops. No foot pedal engagement is required. The auto braking system brakes automatically on steep slopes when needed and can easily hold a 40-percent grade.

The gas model RXV’s are equipped with a Kawasaki high performance13 hp engine, which sets new standards for performance, even on the hilliest terrain. It features a larger cylinder and lower RPM to deliver better fuel economy with less noise. All E-Z-GO RXV’s are designed with Energy Transfer Bumpers that minimize damage by absorbing and transferring energy from impacts into the frame rather than the engine or components. A testament to the craftsmanship and reliability of the RXV is the fact that it is backed by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry—four-year bumper to bumper coverage. In addition, E-Z-GO batteries are guaranteed to last for four years, 1,200 rounds or 21,500 amp hours—whichever comes first— for 36 holes of golf a day, every day.

Club Car introduced the Precedent i2, i2L and i2 Signature Edition models. While these models retain the same classic look of the original Precedent, they boast many new features like the Excel™ drive system which enhances efficiency, reliability and control capabilities. This system increases the benefits of Precedent’s motor braking and regenerative braking features to provide greater control of the vehicle and a smoother ride. A new charging system reduces charging time and water consumption and helps extend battery life. The Precedent’s 360-degree wrap-around bumper now has greater energy-absorbing ability to reduce impact damage to the car’s body and frame. Standard amenities of the i2L model include 10” rims and aluminum wheels, soft-grip steering wheel, custom logo, accent striping, premium windshield and canopy storage net.
The Precedent i2 Signature Edition features a 19 mph top speed (electric only), choice of nine body colors and 11 pinstripe colors, either a burlwood or carbon fiber dash, poly-radial tires with chrome wheel covers, hinged and tinted windshield, comfort grip steering wheel and optional enclosure in Cabana, Seasons and Tommy Bahama Sunbrella fabric.

Tomberlin Automotive Group unveiled the first production Hybrid Low Speed Vehicle (LSV)/ golf car. The Tomberlin E-Merge features a unique on-board charger allowing it to be plugged into almost any electrical outlet without having to carry a heavy, bulky, separate charger. The Hybrid E-Merge carries a small gasoline generator which simply plugs into the on-board charger. It runs on electricity for the first part of a journey and when additional range is needed the generator is started and the car’s batteries are simply charged while it is driven. A standard E-Merge can be converted into a Hybrid model in less than an hour at a cost of less than $1,000.
