B&B PREFERRED'S COMPLETE BODY SYSTEMS MAKE CUSTOMIZING GOLF CARS EASIER AND MORE AFFORDABLE !

 B&B Preferred, of Mesquite, Nevada, got it's start five years ago when Bobby Thomas of Electric Car Distributors in Rancho Mirage, California, and Britt Kennard were visiting one afternoon. (The name of B&B Preferred came from the names of Bobby and Britt) The discussion at the time was the high cost that Bobby was paying for aftermarket bodies for those customers that wanted a custom look for their golf cars. Britt had just purchased a 55 foot fiberglass boat from a friend who was building boats in FRP and steel, at a manufacturing facility in China. The conversation gradually swung around to "what if we could build golf car bodies in China and take advantage of the low labor rate that China now enjoys and deliver them to the U.S.?" Over the next 6 months, conversations ensued between Britt, Bobby, and Britt's friend Bill in China. It was during that time that an agreement was made with a large builder here in the U.S., to supply FRP body shells to them. It was also during this time that Britt and Bobby made a trip to India, to see if they could establish a company in India to build body parts. (At the time, the U.S. and China were not on good terms with one another because of a U.S. plane that had been forced down in China, and China would not return the plane to the U.S.) Both Bobby and Britt agreed that it would be a shame to have a successful business going and then be put out of business, simply because of bad trade negotiations between the U.S. and China.

 During the trip to India, a relationship began with Zarryl Lobo who at that time, owned a successful FRP plant that had been building fiberglass parts for companies world wide and had been in business 29 years. Also at that time, Bobby and Britt decided that they would expand their business beyond the one good customer that they had, and in doing so, would offer ready to mount Complete Body Systems to everyone. About a year later, Bobby and Britt made the decision that Bobby would handle all the business from China, and work closely with the large builder that B&B was supplying from China. In doing so, Britt would then work to establish a market for ready to mount Complete Body Systems. They separated their business interests at that time and Britt took the name of B&B Preferred with him. Bobby and Britt are still the best of friends and nothing is different other than Britt now oversees the India manufacturing without input from Bobby. (And Bobby handles the China manufacturing duties.)

 Since that time, B&B Preferred has grown with their customers' help. B&B has significantly increased the number of body kits and front cowls manufactured and delivered (doubling their production in just under three years). They have also grown in the quality of the product they produce and have become a highly-respected organization that features an ever-growing staff of professionals who understand your business and can offer the type of sales support you deserve. (B&B includes items that other kit builders ignore.) They include items such as a custom top, finished dash board, art leather seats, seat belts, automotive type wiring harness, lights, mirrors, golf bag holders, carpeting ­ the list is extensive and all is standard! Everything is included, down to and including each fastener needed to complete the installation. Each Complete Body System includes instructions in writing along with an installation CD, while also providing a link to review installation instructions on-line. As Britt likes to say," you provide a customer, a chassis, a windshield, and use our Complete Body System and you have a sale!" (That is all you need to make a sale as their Complete Body Systems have everything else you need other than a chassis, a customer, and a windshield.)

Fit Right The First Time
 All B&B Preferred kits are PRE-DRILLED and PRE-FITTED at their manufacturing facility before they are shipped. Each kit is fitted to the chassis for which it is intended, checked for alignment and fit, and then photographed with a template that identifies the serial number and shipment number of that complete kit. This process insures that you can build each B&B Complete Body System in less than eight hours the first time and less time with each successive kit. Each B&B Complete Body System fits right the first time you set it on your chassis. There is no lifting the kit off the chassis, re-drilling or struggling to get the kit installed! B&B does the manufacturing and quality control right so you don't have to!

The B&B Product Line
 B&B currently builds three Complete Body Systems and a front cowl kit. Each of their products is custom molded with hand laid fiberglass for the EZ-GO, Club Car, and Yamaha chassis. Their Patriot II is a 2-passenger golf cart when used with the bag holders and a 4-passenger cart when the bag holders are removed. The Patriot II gives their owners a different look in a golf cart while still providing the comfort of a traditional golf cart. Their Avalon model is a 2-passenger cart design that is a more traditional looking cart while providing the comfort and utility one would expect in a high-end cart. Their Z-Sports is the newest of the B&B line of carts, and in some circles, is the talk of the town. The Z-Sports (named after the artist/designer, Zarryl), offers the customer a sport/luxury appearance with all of the same convenience of a 4-passenger cart. (Or a 2-passenger cart when using the bag holders.) B&B Preferred is presently working to complete their newest addition, the Patriot Packer. (Photographs of the Patriot Packer were not ready by press time but if you see a rugged looking and versatile cargo cart in this magazine in the next issue, that will have to be the B&B Packer!) B&B is also working on a new cowl design for the ever popular Prestige Cowl that will be available in March, 2006.
