WHEEL MATE PRODUCTS (WMP) LAUNCHES REST OF G-SERIES

Wheel Mate Products, a division of Mackin Industries, Inc. has recently released the second of two 12” specialty cast aluminum golf car rims called the G-Series. In time for an early Spring sales campaign, this latest 5 split-spoke design promises to be a strong contender together with the current WMP line-up… the E-Series, F- Series, P-Series and T2- Series.

According to Rick Bailey, Product Specialist at WMP, “there exists a delicate balance when it comes to selection between rim design and matching those same rims to a preferable tire package. Since the advent of the 12” low profile tire, there have been attempts to produce a tire that is suitable for all 12” rims. Although compromises have been made over time in an attempt to ‘get it right’, these tires have either been too narrow, too tall or have an incorrect aspect ratio. I know of one such competitor who even went as far as to ‘re-invent’ their rims in an attempt to make the same tires fit better for their assembly rather than to make the necessary adjustments to the actual tire size. Furthermore, I see this as rather reactionary when all along proactive steps may have been taken to ensure a better fitment and correct the obvious.”

Bailey goes on to say, “why is this most important you may ask? What is most critical here, is having a tire that is both wide enough to extend the width of the rim while at the same time having a rim with the proper pad offset which will tuck the rim and tire assembly inside the body cavity without interfering with critical suspension components. This is what we call… the Superior Low- Profile Advantage. By increasing the normative cross section of the tire we ensure first the proper tire fitment to our rim. Secondarily, this increased tire width improves the stability and responsiveness of the ride to include a smoother feel behind the wheel as you drive.

Furthermore, this enhancement translates into a more quiet tire on the street and cart paths. You might even be pleased to observe less hard scape erosion in trouble areas on the course, a point well appreciated by the supervisor of grounds maintenance. Survey enough cart owners and you will hear of a predominant field complaint of cart owners who experience the occasional exterior water and mud splash from their carts. Aside from this nuisance, who wouldn’t want to achieve a desired ‘cleaner’ aesthetic appeal of a wheel and tire package tucked inside the wheel well.”

The G-Series assembly is available for immediate delivery from a distributor nearest you. Together with its big brother the 12” F- Series, the remaining 10” rims include the E-Series, P-Series and T2- Series. Optional rim finishes include: chrome, machine gunmetal, silver machine, and black/gold machine accent. All are Series specific. Optional spinner packages are also available for all 10” packages

Bailey concludes by saying, “with a strong commitment to innovation and original design, and by continuing to build quality into our product line, WMP will continue to carve a reputation separating us from the pack. After all, we’ve been doing this now for over 25 years in the automotive aftermarket. In addition to our golf car rims and accessories, we offer a full-line of high quality wheel accessories such as standard and metric lug nuts, wheel locks, chrome steel center caps, valve stems, and custom billet wheel adapters.

Incidentally, WMP has been supplying quality parts to the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and service to the automotive aftermarket.”
