MONTEZUMA, IA (October 31, 2024) — Streetrod Golf Cars is announcing a new innovation in its luxury golf car builds: an improved battery option.
The 2025 model year Streetrod Golf Cars are rolling out now. For the first time, new models feature the option of lithium-ion battery power. Previously, Streetrods were only available in gasoline or lead acid battery configurations. This new power source will allow the carts to travel greater distances than lead acid batteries, which addresses a significant request among the customer base.
“Many customers have chosen our gasoline motors simply due to the distance they travel,” said Streetrod Operations Manager Aaron Rasmussen. “In many cases they prefer the quieter sound and cleaner operation of a battery powered unit, but they had range anxiety. This offers them the best of both worlds.”
Range isn’t the only benefit of the lithium option. These batteries have proven to have a longer lifespan, allowing Streetrod to offer an 8-year warranty, vs. the previous battery’s one-year option. It’s also significantly lighter.
The first lithium-powered Streetrod, a Vintage LE32, is now in stock at Village Streetrod in The Villages, Florida.
The new lithium battery option is available on all Streetrod models, including the hot rod-inspired Vintage, the modern and luxurious LUX, and the sporty and rugged GRIT. Both the Vintage and LUX come in 6-seat limousine configurations, with the Vintage limo expandable to an 8-seat configuration perfect for luxury resorts, golf courses, and hotels.
