The 71st Anniversary of the 2024 PGA Merchandise Show was held January 24-26 in Orlando, FL. While I have been personally covering the PGA Show since 2010, in my 14 years of coverage I have never witnessed the immense number of exhibitors specifically in the Golf Car/LSV segment of the PGA Show. With that being said, the number of attendees was just as impressive. We are all aware that the Golf Car/LSV industry has been in a growth mode and all indications are this trend will continue into the foreseeable future, but to the magnitude of what I saw was impressive to say the least. I find it fitting to see that there were many international companies looking to break into the US marketplace as evident by the many Chinese & Korean manufacturers, whether it was LSV’s/NEV’s or lithium battery manufacturers or simply golf car accessories, so they obviously realize the room for growth in the US marketplace.
There were several vehicles that were unveiled at the PGA Show, as well. While Tomberlin unveiled the all-new Engage, Bintelli EV was unveiling the all-new NEXUS and then there was Vivid EV unveiling the all-new Anthem and Voyager EV unveiled the all-new Patriot and Nivel unveiled the MadJax E Series Storm – and what I’ve mentioned here is only the tip of the iceberg. As you read on, we will go over in detail throughout this PGA Show Report what the Show had to offer – it was over the top! We will investigate what’s new and exciting and the recent advancements in technologies that are now being incorporated in the industry. This is basically unchartered territory, and I am most certainly looking forward to what the future brings as both US and international manufacturers continue to fine-tune the existing technologies and cultivate future advancements in our Industry, including but not limited to autonomous driving capabilities – most notably Carteav of Israel appears to be on the forefront of this technology as they exhibited for the 2nd consecutive year.
More than 31,000 golf industry professionals from 89 countries and 50 U.S. states came together to meet with more than 1,000 golf companies and brands at the 71st PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, Jan. 23-26, 2024. With the continued upswing in consumer golf participation, the PGA Show signaled a bullish year ahead for the $102 billion golf industry.
While the PGA Show began in the trunks of cars during a 1954 golf tournament, it has grown into golf’s longest running and largest global business gathering covering 1.1 million square feet of exhibit, demonstration and meeting space within the Orange County Convention Center. The games’ most recognizable brands and veteran manufacturers, along with more than 350 exhibitors new to the PGA Show, created an unparalleled marketplace to showcase the latest innovations that will enhance the golf experience and drive the business of the sport.
Among the tens of thousands of attendees were more than 7,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals, LPGA and international PGA Professionals, representing widespread professional positions in the global industry and driving grassroots participation in the game by millions worldwide. More than 1,000 VIP buyers from 775 golf facilities and mass merchandisers sourced new products and services, bringing approximately $900 million in purchasing power and nearly $2.9 billion in retail sales to the event. Additionally, more than 900 media from 22 countries reported from the trade-only PGA Show, offering an exclusive inside look to the game’s newest innovations for millions of consumers around the world. Industry professional attendance came from 89 countries and all 50 U.S. states with Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Japan, China and Ireland topping the list of international attendees and New York, Texas, Georgia, California, and Pennsylvania representing top states, outside of the host state of Florida.
“As someone who has attended the PGA Show for over 30 years, this one certainly had an added excitement around it,” said PGA of America President John Lindert, PGA Director of Golf at the Country Club of Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. “The golf industry is in a great place and that was very evident this year. The Show is annually the largest gathering of PGA of America Golf Professionals and industry leaders and is the epicenter of golf business. It is also the largest stage in golf for education, career development and professional networking. As an industry, we are better equipped to drive continued growth of this game we all love by coming together annually at the PGA Show.”
“The 2024 PGA Show overflowed with more exhibitors, more floor space, more attendees and an amazing energy that will surely drive the business of golf ahead in the upcoming year,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President Marc Simon. “We are especially thrilled with the positive response to the inaugural PGA Show Winter Jam featuring country music star Jake Owen, and many other new experiential events that gave our attendees and exhibitors a chance to connect in fresh and exciting ways. We can’t wait to build off these successes in 2025.”

US Battery, with close to 100 years of battery design, development and innovative experience displayed its’ ESSENTIAL Li™ line of Lithium-Ion deep-cycle batteries. Being late to the party is not a bad thing when the engineers and developers are purposely taking their time and due diligence in developing lithium batteries with the US Battery name before they are ready for mass-production. ESSENTIAL Li™ batteries are engineered using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell chemistry, which is widely considered the safest and most robust option currently available. This chemistry enables U.S. Battery to deliver a reliable, maintenance-free, deep-cycle battery that easily integrates into many golf cars. With increased capacity and longer runtimes, golf cars and LSV’s can drive further on a single charge. ESSENTIAL Li™ deep-cycle batteries also reach full charge in less time, substantially reducing vehicle downtime and overall operating costs when combined with zero maintenance. Yamaha Golf Car displayed their usual line-up of fleet golf cars and LSV’s – and then we saw something unique – something unheard of – a concept hydrogen engine golf car! Yamaha has developed a hydrogen powered engine golf car concept model, the DRIVE H2. The concept model is the first of its kind and was prominently displayed at the PGA Show. The DRIVE H2 is based on Yamaha’s DRIVE2 CONCIERGE4, a four-seater golf car sold mainly in the United States, but also around the world. Hydrogen engines are internal combustion engines that can make use of existing technologies and at the same time do not emit CO2 during the combustion process. For this reason, Yamaha is conducting research and development of this technology as it has the potential to achieve both the continued use of internal combustion engines and decarbonization. The DRIVE H2 is equipped with two high-pressure hydrogen tanks (25L each) positioned under the driver’s seat and on the back of the rear seat. To date, Yamaha has announced concept models equipped with hydrogen engines, including generators and ROVs, and now the DRIVE H2. By exhibiting at this event, Yamaha promotes its efforts toward achieving decarbonization. For more information, visit yamahagolfcar.com or call 866-747-4027.
