L-FLEX lithium battery family launches in the U.S. with dealer, distribution, OEM and private-label opportunities
MIAMI, FL (September 30, 2026) — The U.S. golf cart market has no shortage of lithium batteries. IMECAR is entering it with something harder to replicate: the engineering company behind the battery.
IMECAR, an electrification engineering and manufacturing company with more than 15 years of experience, is expanding its U.S. presence with the launch of L-FLEX, its 51.2 V lithium battery family for golf carts and light electric vehicles. The company is opening discussions with U.S. dealers, distributors, vehicle manufacturers and qualified OEM and private-label partners.
IMECAR develops battery systems, BMS technology, power electronics, energy storage and vehicle integration for applications including light electric mobility, commercial EVs, public transportation, marine and high-voltage platforms. Golf cart batteries are one part of that work.
“We didn’t build a golf cart battery company and then add engineering,” said Mark Lander, CEO of IMECAR. “We brought our engineering into the golf cart market.”
Commercial EV Engineering, Applied to Golf Carts
Every L-FLEX battery is managed by IMECAR’s IM-P150 BMS, derived from the BMS family the company developed for its commercial EV platforms. The system measures individual cell voltages with ±0.8 mV accuracy and uses 14 temperature sensors to monitor the cells, MOSFETs and pack interior.
The pack uses a double-aluminum construction designed around thermal management – a priority for golf carts that carry passengers, climb hills and operate under sustained load in summer heat.
“Most customers will never notice any of this, and that’s the point,” Lander said. “The engineering should do the thinking. The customer should do the driving.”
What’s Underneath the Label
Two batteries can both say 51.2 V on the label and be very different underneath. Experienced dealers evaluate lithium suppliers on questions that don’t appear on a spec sheet: who engineered the BMS, how heat is managed, who manufactures the battery, and who stands behind it when a customer calls.
IMECAR designs and manufactures its battery systems on its own production line, with robotic assembly, laser welding and end-of-line testing. Its Miami-based U.S. operation provides domestic support, dispatches in-stock L-FLEX products and administers the 10-year limited warranty.
“The manufacturer builds the battery, but the dealer puts their reputation behind it,” Lander said. “Our reputation is on that battery too.”
Beyond L-FLEX
For qualified partners, IMECAR’s capabilities extend beyond the L-FLEX brand to OEM battery development, vehicle integration and private-label programs. Partners can carry L-FLEX, distribute IMECAR products, or build their own battery program on IMECAR engineering.
“Our name doesn’t have to be on the battery,” Lander said. “Our engineering can be.”
